Meet the Staff

Executive Director

Cara Oberheide

Cara Oberheide was named the Executive Director at Alden Courts of Des Plaines and Alden Gardens of Des Plaines on February 7, 2011. She comes to Alden after working in the long-term care industry as an Activities Coordinator, a Home Care Case Manager and most recently, a Resident Care Coordinator at an Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. Cara has a passion for Alzheimer's and Dementia Care and recently completed a Multidisciplinary Certificate Program in Dementia Assessment, Care and Management with The Alzheimer's Association. Cara is a firm believer in educating staff, residents, family members and the outside community about Alzheimer's and Dementia issues. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Public Policy from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY and completed her Senior Thesis on Evaluating Outcomes of Long Term Community Based Care with the New York State Office For the Aging.
